Marriage records

Marriage records can also be a great source of information. At a minimum, they will include the full names of the people being married, the date of the marriage, and the name of the person who performed the ceremony.

Search marriage records at Ancestry.com. Search Ancestry.com's online collection of marriage records.

Some marriage records will also include the ages and prior marital status of those being married, along with their birthplaces, places of residence at the time of the marriage and the names of their parents. The occupation of the groom may also be included. If you are are really lucky, the records may also list the parents of both the bride and groom.
